Reflecting on my time as CEO of Ethiopiaid
After ten incredible years as CEO at Ethiopiaid, the time has come for me to step down. It’s a bittersweet moment, as my time here has been one of the most fulfilling and rewarding chapters of my professional life.
Ethiopiaid is the sum of many parts – donors, supporters, staff and trustees – which together has achieved so much for our amazing partners in Ethiopia. I am so proud of the small part I have played and it has been a privilege to work alongside such dedicated people. The stories of resilience, hope, and transformation that I have witnessed have been truly inspiring and reaffirmed the power of Ethiopiaid’s approach.
While it is with a sense of nostalgia that I say goodbye, I am excited to introduce the charity’s new CEO Anna Lord who has worked alongside me for almost a decade as our Senior Partnerships Manager. Anna brings a wealth of experience and a shared passion for Ethiopia and the work of our partners. She has visited Ethiopia many times and has a deep understanding of the context in which our partners are operating. I am delighted that she will be leading the charity into its next chapter.
I want to thank the team and board, our partners in Ethiopia, our donors and supporters who have all been part of this incredible journey, and I am excited to see Ethiopiaid continue to thrive under new leadership. My time here has been an honour, and I am deeply proud of what we have accomplished together.
Ethiopiaid will forever have a special place in my heart and for me it is not completely goodbye as I will continue to lend my personal support.
