Transforming lives in Ethiopia

An estimated 140,000 women in Ethiopia are living with obstetric fistula.

Obstetric fistula is a devastating childbirth injury, causing an internal tear or hole in the delicate tissue between the birth canal and bladder and/or rectum. It often occurs following a prolonged, obstructed labour, when a woman has had to give birth at home without trained medical assistance.

Many women, unaware that their injury can be treated, are left facing a future of incontinence, pain and isolation.

But it is treatable, and preventable.

Please make a gift today to help us reach more women.

Our maternal health partners are working to ensure every woman can access the care and support they need to give birth safely.

How will my donation help protect women in Ethiopia and prevent obstetric fistula?

By improving access to maternal health services, our partners are saving the lives of mothers and babies, preventing the childbirth injuries that are so prevalent with prolonged, unassisted labour and offering women choices in childbirth.

By donating this Christmas:

We firmly believe that every woman should be able to access the care they need to give birth safely.

Thank you.
