Sir Alec was the most remarkable man I have ever had the privilege to meet. Not only was he a brilliant businessman whose company changed lives but his philanthropy was on an inspirational scale. He always seemed so approachable and down to earth but the image that will stay with me is the extraordinary light of kindness in his eyes. This was a man who cared deeply and did something about it.
