To all in the 4 Ethiopiaids, we in Afar know where your heart is and where your commitment comes from when we learn of and digest the life Sir Alec lived. We had the privilege of Alex’s visit when she related many things to us. What the people of Afar know is that Ethiopiaid hears them and responds and perhaps more importantly, listens to them. This could only have happened through the leadership of Sir Alec. There are very few people in the world who genuinely share the pain of others and live for the interest of the wider community, he clearly was one and still we need to be directed and by this extraordinary response – no barriers, no questioning of the ‘different living’.
May God grant him eternal rest and may we work with stronger diligence as we fulfill his vision among the Afar people as Afar Pastoralist Development Association.
